According to a report released by the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS), in September this year the UK's seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing increased by 0.2 percent compared to August and was up by 0.5 percent year on year. According to the ONS, in the July-September period of this year, the country’s seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing rose by 0.6 percent quarter on quarter and increased by one percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in September the production index for basic metals and metal products decreased by 0.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and was up 0.1 percent compared to August. In the July-September period of this year, the production index for basic metals and metal products rose by 1.9 percent compared to the previous quarter and increased by 0.8 percent year on year.
