UK basic metal output index up 0.8 percent in March from February

According to a report released by the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS), in March this year the UK's seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing decreased by 1.9 percent compared to March last year and was up by 0.1 percent compared to February. According to the ONS, in the first quarter of this year, the country’s seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing fell by 0.4 percent quarter on quarter and decreased by 1.3 percent compared to the same quarter of last year.
 
Meanwhile, in March the production index for basic metals and metal products decreased by four percent compared to the same month of the previous year and was up 0.8 percent compared to February. In the first quarter, the production index for basic metals and metal products increased by 1.6 percent compared to the previous quarter and decreased by 4.4 percent compared to the same quarter of 2015.
