Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky (DMKD), a subsidiary of the Ukrainian steelmaker Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), has begun preparations for the reconstruction of its section rolling shop (mill 350), within the framework of which it will install a new rebar and wire rod mill supplied by the Italian plantmaker Danieli.

"This mill will produce about 600,000 mt of wire rod in coils, which will enable us to provide wire not only for our own needs, but also for other plants in Ukraine. Thus, in wire rod production DMKD will be able to provide serious competition for ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih," DMKD stated.

The next stage of the reconstruction of DMKD's section rolling shop will be the commissioning of a new longs production line, which will manufacture different types of bars and sections - from steel angles and channels to rounds. Thus, following the construction of another new blast furnace, the production capacity of DMKD's section rolling shop will increase to 1.5 million mt per year.
