US CRC imports up 16.1 percent in April from March

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cold rolled coil totaled 148,477 mt in April this year, up 16.1 percent month on month and up 114.0 percent year on year. By value, CRC imports totaled $164.7 million in April this year, compared to $143.8 million in March and $85.6 million in April last year.

The US imported the most CRC from Canada in April, with 48,022 mt, compared to 55,642 mt in March and 38,039 mt in April last year. Other top sources of imported CRC in April include Australia, with 15,420 mt; Vietnam, with 15,139 mt; Brazil, with 12,583 mt; and Mexico, with 10,921 mt.
