US HDG exports up 2.6 percent in October from September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheet and strip (HDG) totaled 121,194 mt in October this year up 2.6 percent month on month and up 0.2 percent year on year. By value, HDG exports totaled $169.9 million in October this year, compared to $168.3 million in the previous month and $164.5 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HDG to Mexico in October with 73,172 mt, compared to 66,691 mt in September and 61,420 mt in October last year. Mexico is followed by Canada, with 47,384 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HDG exports in October.
