US OCTG imports down 67.9 percent in October from September

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 66,414 mt in October this year, down 67.9 percent from September and down 105.3 percent year on year. By value, OCTG imports totaled $102.1 million in October, compared to $151 million in September and $273.8 million in the same month in 2023.

The US imported the most OCTG from Canada in October with 14,007 mt, compared to 0 mt in September and 0 mt in October last year. Other top sources of imported OCTG in October include South Korea with 9,573 mt, Mexico with 8,958 mt, Taiwan with 6,471 mt, and Japan with 4,541 mt.
