CRC import price offers remain stable in Brazil

CRC import offers in Brazil remain negotiated in average at $885/mt, CFR conditions, stable over the last four weeks, according to sources.

In January, Brazil exported 4,800 mt and imported 21,500 mt of CRC, against respectively 11,900 mt and 49,700 mt in December.

The exports were all from Usiminas, in average at $901/mt, FOB conditions. The destinations of the exports were South American countries (4,500 mt at $933/mt) and Pakistan (300 mt at $344/mt, certainly not a market price).

The imports were from China (19,300 mt at $652/mt), South Korea (1,200 mt at $794/mt), Singapore (600 mt at $738/mt) and Sweden (300 mt at $1,110/mt), while small volumes were imported from the US, Spain and Portugal.

In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades remains offered in medium to large volumes by the producers at BRL 6,620/mt ($1,337/mt), also stable in BRL over the last four weeks, ex-works, no taxes included.
