The reference price of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG), for the export from Brazil to South American countries, is $1,050/mt today, against $1,110/mt four weeks ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In May, Brazil exported 15,200 mt and imported 42,700 mt of HDG, against respectively 43,800 mt and 32,100 mt in April.
The exports, all destined to South American countries, were shipped by ArcelorMittal (7,500 mt at $1,401/mt), Usiminas (7,300 mt at $1,605/mt), CSN (300 mt at $1,658/mt) and by traders (100 mt at $1,328/mt), all FOB conditions.
The imports came from Asia (40,800 mt, of which 37,900 at $761/mt from China), Europe (1,800 mt at $1,070/mt) and the US (100 mt at $1,024/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,253/mt ($1,300/mt), against BRL 6,450/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
