Despite the unfavorable market outlook, which is mostly attributable to the ongoing lack of demand and fewer construction projects, domestic offers from the sole Romanian flats producer and local flats traders have remained stable week on week. Market participants claim that, although some sellers are offering further discounts to customers because of the approaching Orthodox Easter holiday in Romania, business this week was below average and so prices remained unchanged.
As a result, the domestic producer’s hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) prices are stable week on week at €615-620/mt ex-works and €715-720/mt ex-works, respectively. Moreover, in the coated steel segment, the producer’s domestic prices for HDG and PPGI are also stable at €785-790/mt ex-works and €1,065-1,070/mt ex-works, respectively.
In the spot market, Romanian traders have also kept their prices stable week on week. Accordingly, prices for hot rolled sheets (HRS) and cold rolled sheets (CRS) are stable at €750-780/mt ex-warehouse and €900-950/mt ex-warehouse, respectively.
Furthermore, sources state that import offers are also unchanged week on week. Consequently, Ukraine has offered HRS and CRS to Romania at €655/mt DAP and €740/mt DAP, respectively. Similarly, HRC offers from Turkey have remained stable week on week with FOB pricing ranging at $600-620/mt and freight at around €25/mt, resulting in a price to Romania of approximately €585-605/mt CFR.
