The official domestic mill’s prices for flats in Romania have been once again maintained over the week since the demand has reportedly remain still consistent. However, in the retail market the traders have been citing low business operations.
As a result, this week's hot rolled coil (HRC) offers from the Romanian producer have remained at €685-690/mt ex-works. Meanwhile, offers for cold rolled coils (CRC) are still only offered by the producer upon request from regular clients. HDG offers are €785-790/mt ex-works, whereas PPGI offers are €1,085-1,090/mt ex-works.
In the spot market, a majority of traders continues quoting the same prices for hot rolled sheets (HRS) and cold rolled sheets (CRC) as last week - €750-780/mt ex-warehouse and €900-950/mt ex-warehouse, respectively.
In the import market, Romanian buyers remain reluctant to make active purchases due to the slow domestic demand. Consequently, HRC offers from Turkey have declined from the past week, with FOB pricing of approximately $605-615/mt and freight costs of around €25/mt, resulting in a price to Romania of about €585-600/mt CFR, €5-10/mt down. In the meantime, stable offers for HRS €680-700/mt DAP and CRS €770-790/mt DAP have been heard for Romania from Ukraine. Also, as of last week, offers for S235 quality quarto plates from South Korea and Italy both remained at €710/mt CIF and €835/mt DAP, respectively.
