WISCO issues steel prices for August shipment

Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO) has issued its steel sales prices for August shipment. The price changes are as follows (comparisons being with July prices):

1. Hot rolled (HR)

The prices of common structural carbon, low alloy and high carbon structural steel, shipbuilding steel, cylinder steel and automobile steel have declined by RMB 150/mt ($23/mt), and the prices of high-strength galvanized steel and container steel have decreased by RMB 300/mt ($47/mt).

Currently the prices of 3.0 mm x 1,250 mm SPHC grade hot rolled coil (HRC), 2.75 mm x 1,250 mm Q235 grade HRC and 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm Q235 grade HRC are respectively standing at RMB 3,700/mt ($586/mt), RMB 3,670/mt ($581/mt) and RMB 3,630/mt ($574/mt).

2. Rolled plate

The price of common carbon steel, low alloy, shipbuilding sheet, bridge plate, wear-resistant steel plate and high-strength welded steel has decreased by RMB 200/mt ($31/mt), the price of high carbon steel has decreased by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt), and the prices of other products have remained unchanged. At present, 14-40 mm Q235A and 14-40 mm Q345A grade plate prices are standing at RMB 4,060/mt ($643/mt) and RMB 4,170/mt ($660/mt) respectively.

3. Cold rolled (CR)

I. The prices of cold rolled (CR) steel products of grades Q195, Q215A, SPCC, DC01, SPC270C, SPCCT-EG, WMB1, A235A, Q275A, WJD1, WJD2, WJD3, JSC340W, JSC370W, JSC390W, JSC440W, SPFC440, SPCD-HS, SPCE-HS, WLS280-JD and WLS350-JD have declined by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt).

The prices of Q195, Q215A, SPCC, DC01, SPC270C, SPCCT-EG, WMB1, A235A, Q275A, WJD1, WJD2 and WJD3 grade cold rolled (CR) steel products of over or equal to 1.9 mm thickness have declined by an additional RMB 10 mt ($1/mt) on top of the decline for the previously-mentioned CR products. The price of 1.0 mm Q195 grade cold rolled steel is currently at RMB 4,310/mt ($683/mt), while the price of 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x CQ195 grade cold rolled steel stands at RMB 4,310/mt ($683/mt).

II. The prices of DQ and DDQ stamped soft steel have declined by RMB 180/mt ($28/mt). The prices of EDDQ and above grade deep drawing processing soft steel have declined by RMB 180/mt ($28/mt). The prices of H260LA, H300LA and WH300LA grade low alloy high-strength steel have declined by RMB 150/mt ($23/mt). The prices of H340LA and WH340LA grade low alloy high-strength steel have declined by RMB 200/mt ($31/mt). The prices of H380LA, WH380LA, H420LA, WH420LA and JSC590R grade low alloy high-strength steel have declined by RMB 300/mt ($47/mt). The prices of H180Y and WH180Y grade high-strength interstitial-free (IF) steel have declined by RMB 160/mt ($25/mt). The prices of H220Y and WH220Y grade high-strength IF steel have declined by RMB 80/mt ($12/mt). The price of HB steel has decreased by RMB 260/mt ($41/mt). The prices of cold rolled TRIP steel and dual phase steel have declined by RMB 300/mt ($47/mt).

III. The prices of other products have remained unchanged.

4. Hot dip galvanized (HDG)

The prices of DX52 and DX53 grades have declined by RMB 40/mt ($6/mt).

The price decrease margins for hot dip galvanized (HDG) according to the thickness are as follows:

5. Non-grain-oriented (NGO) silicon steel

The prices of products of high and medium steel grades have decreased by RMB 150($23/mt), while the prices of products of low steel grades have decreased by RMB 200 ($31/mt). The prices of silicon steel produced by the cold rolled plant have a discount of RMB 80/mt ($12/mt).

6. The prices of section steel, tinplate, coated, electro-galvanized, grain-oriented (GO) silicon steel have remained unchanged.

7. Wire rod and related products

The prices of strand wire, welded wire, cable wire, aluminum clad steel, spring steel, bridge cable steel and steel fiber have remained unchanged, while the prices of other products have increased by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt).

In addition, WISCO has also issued its special steel sales prices for August shipment. The price changes are as follows (comparisons again being with July prices):
 
1.     The prices of welded wire, strand wire, cable wire, spring steel, bridge cable steel and steel fiber have remained unchanged.

2.     The price of 65MnA high carbon steel has decreased by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt).

3.     The prices of cold heading steel, 35-80# high carbon steel have decreased by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt). The price of 6.5mm diameter 45# high carbon wire is currently standing at RMB 3,790/mt ($600/mt), exclusive of VAT, and RMB 4,434.3/mt ($702/mt) with VAT included.

4.     The prices of SWRH72A and SWRH82A grade high-strength steel have declined by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt).

5.     The prices of high carbon sheet, cylinder steel, automobile steel have declined by RMB 150/mt ($23/mt).

6.     The prices of rolled plate, such as bridge plate, wear-resistant steel and high-strength steel have declined by RMB 200/mt ($31/mt), and the prices of high carbon plate have declined by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt).
 
All the above prices exclude 17 percent VAT and are effectively immediately.
