Today, February 14, Turkey’s Kardemir has issued its rebar price at TRY 19,500/mt ($635/mt), excluding VAT. The mill’s rebar price has indicated a TRY 335/mt ($4/mt) rise as compared to Thursday, February 1. According to sources, the mill's rebar sales are still open, with around 9,500 mt traded so far.

Kardemir’s rebar price is close to the lower end of the official rebar price range in the Marmara and Izmir regions, which has varied at $635-640/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S. Sources report the workable rebar prices in these regions are at around $620-635/mt ex-works.

"The rebar price is relatively high under the current market conditions, so the sales tonnage may be limited," one source commented. Moreover, the mill recently set a maximum 2,500 mt quota per company, SteelOrbis has heard.

The mill is selling its rebar at yesterday’s Turkish Central Bank-based exchange rate of $1 = TRY 30.72.
