India’s NMDC hikes prices of iron ore lumps and fines with immediate effect

India’s state-run miner NMDC Limited has increased prices of iron ore lumps and fines by INR 300/mt ($4/mt) and INR 200/mt ($2/mt), respectively, with immediate effect, company sources said on Monday, April 29.

Following the hike, effective price of iron ore lumps (10-40 mm, Fe content of 67 percent) now stands at INR 7,270/mt ($87.27/mt) ex-pithead, with that of iron ore fines (less than 10 mm, Fe content of 64 percent) at 5,260/mt ($63.14/mt) ex-pithead.

All prices are inclusive of mandatory levies like District Mineral Fund (DMF), National Mineral Exploration Trust (DMET) cess and forest permit fees.
