India’s NMDC hikes prices of iron ore lumps and fines with immediate effect

Indian government-run miner NMDC Limited has hiked prices of iron ore fines and lumps by INR 350/mt ($3/mt) and INR 250/mt ($4.21/mt), respectively, with immediate effect, company sources said on Tuesday, May 28.

Following the price increases, the effective price for iron ore fines (less than 10 mm, with Fe content of 64 percent) stands at INR 5,610/mt ($67.50/mt) ex-pithead and that of lumps (10-40 mm, with Fe content of 67 percent) stands at INR 7,520/mt ($90.49/mt) ex-pithead.

All prices are inclusive of mandatory levies like District Mineral Fund (DMF), National Mineral Exploration Trust (DMET) cess and forest permit fees.
