In early September (September 1-10) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were respectively recorded at RMB 4,490.1/mt ($657.4/mt), RMB 4,621.3/mt ($676.6/mt), RMB 4,505.4/mt ($659.6/mt), RMB 4,440.8/mt ($650.2/mt) and RMB 4,528.3/mt ($663.0/mt), decreasing by RMB 23.3/mt ($3.4/mt), RMB 30.4/mt ($4.5/mt), RMB 16.5/mt ($2.4/mt), RMB 23.8/mt ($3.5/mt) and RMB 17.0/mt ($2.5/mt), i.e., down 0.5 percent, 0.7 percent, 0.4 percent, 0.5 percent, and 0.4 percent, respectively, compared to prices in late August (August 21-31), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
In early September, the average price of 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes was recorded at RMB 5,415.6/mt ($792.9/mt), up RMB 11.5/mt ($1.7/mt) or 0.2 percent compared to the price in late August.
