In the January-October period this year, China’s rebar production totaled 192.669 million mt, down 1.2 percent year on year, according to China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
In the first ten months this year, wire rod production amounted to 115.478 million mt, declining by 0.9 percent year on year.
In the same period, China’s welded pipe output reached 53.96 million mt, up 11.1 percent year on year.
In October alone, China’s rebar, wire rod and welded pipe outputs amounted to 18.251 million mt, 11.041 million mt and 5.529 million mt, down 12.1 percent, down 4.6 percent and up 5.2 percent year on year, while down 0.2 percent, 10.34 percent and up 4.2 percent month on month, respectively.
In October, rebar prices moved down first, while indicating an uptrend later, and the rising trend continued in November. The highest level of rebar prices in October stood at RMB 3,837/mt on October 31, and the lowest level of RMB 3,740/mt was recorded on October 10-15, according to SteelOrbis’ data.
