Completed dwellings up 9.5 percent in Germany in 2012

The construction of a total of 200,500 dwellings was completed in Germany during 2012. As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), this indicates an increase of 9.5 percent or 17,400 buildings, compared to the number recorded during 2011. According to Destatis, although the increase was not as strong as in 2011 when a year-on-year rise of 14.6 percent was recorded, it was significantly higher than the increase of 0.5 percent seen in 2010.
