CSC’s steel sales up 2.4 percent in May from April

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in May this year its carbon steel sales volume increased by 2.4 percent to 980,913 metric tons compared to April, accounting for 70 percent of domestic sales.  During the first five months of the current year, the company's carbon steel sales volume amounted to 4.64 million mt, accounting for 69 percent of domestic sales.
 
In May, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 24.48 billion ($759.22 million), increasing by seven percent month on month. In the given month, the company registered income before tax of NTD 2.7 billion ($84 million), compared to an income before tax of NTD 1.55 billion in the previous month.
