CSC’s steel sales up 4.2 percent in August from July

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in August this year its carbon steel sales volume increased by 4.2 percent to 895,055 metric tons compared to July, accounting for 71 percent of domestic sales. During the first eight months of the current year, the company's carbon steel sales volume amounted to 7.35 million mt, accounting for 69 percent of domestic sales.
 
In August, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 25.71 billion ($818 million), up by 4.9 percent month on month. In the given month, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 2.87 billion ($91.47 million), decreasing by 9.8 percent compared to the previous month.
