In May this year, the price, calendar and seasonally adjusted industrial production in Germany decreased 1.8 percent compared to the previous month, according to the preliminary data released by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
According to the ministry's report, production decreased by 4.9 percent in the construction sector in May, while intermediate goods manufacturers decreased their production by three percent, output of consumer goods fell by 3.5 percent and output of capital goods moved up by 0.3 percent, all compared to the previous month.
