German industrial output down four percent in August from July

In August this year, the price, calendar and seasonally adjusted industrial production in Germany decreased four percent compared to the previous month, according to the preliminary data released by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

According to the ministry's report, production decreased by two percent in the construction sector in August, while intermediate goods manufacturers saw their production decline by 1.9 percent, output of consumer goods fell by 0.4 percent and output of capital goods moved down by 8.8 percent, all compared to the previous month.
