Mexican companies Fasemex and Metelmex increase their production capacity

The Mexican companies Fabricaciones y Servicios de México (Fasemex), producer of trailers, dollies, loading platforms, and the manufacturer of the electroforged grille Metelmex are in the process of expanding their production volume, published the local press of the northern city of Monclova (the house of AHMSA), Coahuila.

Fasemex is building a new plant to manufacture heavy transportation equipment for its Liddell brand, which is marketed mainly in the United States. It produces lowboys, tanks, platforms, hoppers and multi-axle components for heavy transportation, equipment for the construction industry and for the oil industry, published the Zócalo Monclova newspaper.

The newspaper interviewed the director of Economic Development of Monclova, Jorge Garza de la Fuente. The official said the Liddell plant will begin production in the first quarter of next year and will generate 400 jobs. Regarding the expansion of Metelmex, without specifying dates, he said that it will begin “soon,” with a generation of 200 jobs”.

Fasemex is an industrial conglomerate linked to the metalworking industry, and producer of trailers, dollies, platforms and other products for heavy cargo transportation and for the transportation of the oil industry. She also owns a minority stake in FreightCar America, a Chicago-based manufacturer of freight cars for the railway industry.
