MOC: Average finished steel price in China down 0.5 percent

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (December 18-24) the overall average finished steel price in China decreased by 0.5 percent week on week.

In the given week, average prices of high-speed wire rod, common steel round bar, rebar and welded steel pipes in China respectively decreased by 1.1 percent, 0.6 percent, 0.6 percent and 0.6 percent, week on week.

In the same week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China edged up by 1.8 percent week on week. The average price of nickel (Ni> = 99.2%) increased by 5.3 percent compared to the previous week.

In the week in question, the average price of coal in China rose by 0.5 percent week on week. In particular, the prices of coking coal, thermal coal and anthracite coal increased by 0.9 percent, 0.5 percent and 0.4 percent, respectively, all compared to the previous week.
