Tata Steel Nederland, a subsidiary of Indian steelmaker Tata Steel, has announced that it has added a sampling line to its hot strip mill at its IJmuiden plant in order to better serve its customers in different sectors.

Accordingly, the sampling line will allow the company to rapidly test and inspect the steel properties of each coil, reducing lead times of new steel grades and its delivery to the customers. Thus, Tata Steel Nederland will be able to produce thicker, stronger and more abrasion-resistant steel for trucks and trailers excavators, cranes, mining, and for pipelines for transporting gas, water and hydrogen.

The hot strip mill in question is designed to produce hot strips with a length of 8-12 meters and at 22.5 centimeters in thickness.
