Ukraine issues Jan-Apr 2009 export data

According to the data for the first four months of 2009, Ukrainian exports of steel pipes decreased by 30.6 percent to 429,300 mt, its semi-finished steel product exports dropped by 10.9 percent to 4.12 million mt, its exports of flat rolled steel decreased by 40.4 percent to 1.89 million mt, and its exports of long steel dropped by 39.7 percent to 1.46 million mt, all compared to the corresponding period of 2008.

On the other hand, in January-April 2009 Ukraine decreased its ferroalloy exports by 67.2 percent and its ferrous scrap exports by 21.2 percent year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 122,750 and 137,730.

Meanwhile, in the first four months of 2009 Ukraine increased its coke exports by 8.1 percent to 277,850 mt and its pig iron exports by 14.6 percent to 405,560 mt, both compared to the same period last year.
