US-based refractory producer Allied Minerals has announced that it will invest $23.5 million to increase the production capacity of its Alabama plant, which specializes in heat containment refractory products used in industrial applications including integrated and electric arc furnace-based steel.

Within the scope of the project, which is now under construction, the company will build a new facility on the same site and install new equipment. The construction will last until late 2025. This way, other than increasing production capacity, Allied will improve its efficiency and its ability to serve its customers.
