US duties on German seamless pipe likely to hold for five more years

Tuesday, 07 August 2012 01:48:10 (GMT+3)   |

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced the final results of its expedited sunset review of the antidumping (AD) order on certain seamless carbon and alloy steel standard, line, and pressure pipe from Germany.

The DOC determined that revocation of this antidumping order would be likely to lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping. Previously, US International Trade Commission (ITC) also decided to conduct an expedited sunset review in connection with this order.

The ITC's decision to conduct an expedited review virtually guarantees that the ITC will make an affirmative determination, which - combined with today's announcement by the DOC - means that the antidumping order will remain in effect for another period of five years.
