US rig count increases week-on-week while Canadian rig count also increases

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending on July 26, 2024, the US rotary rig count increased by three to 589.

The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by two to 101, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by five to 488. The overall US rig count is down by 75 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 14 week on week to 211 rigs in the week ending July 26. The Canadian rig count has increased by eighteen compared to the same reporting period in the previous year.
