Major Chinese steelmaker Baosteel has made adjustments to its carbon steel flat product prices for September deliveries. The price changes are as follows (comparisons are with August prices):
1. Hot rolled coil (HRC) - produced by Baosteel's main steel production base and by its stainless steel division:
Structural steel prices have risen by RMB 60/mt ($9/mt).
2. Hot rolled pickled products:
1) Products produced by the main steel production base have increased by RMB 120/mt ($18/mt).
2) Products from the stainless steel division are RMB 50/mt ($7/mt) lower than prices of products from the main steel base.
3. Cold rolled (CR) products:
1) Main steel base products are up by RMB 120/mt ($18/mt).
2) Stainless steel division products are RMB 100/mt ($15/mt) lower than prices of products from Baosteel's main steel base.
3) Products from Baosteel Group Shanghai Meishan Co. are RMB 200/mt ($31/mt) lower than prices of products from the main steel base.
4) Double wall brazed tube, flux-cored wire and single wall weld tube products are RMB 50/mt ($7/mt), RMB 100/mt ($15/mt) and RMB 150/mt ($23/mt) higher than the August prices respectively.
4. Hot dip galvanized (HDG):
1) Main steel base product prices are up by RMB 200/mt ($31/mt).
2) Products from Baosteel Group Shanghai Meishan Co. are up by RMB 50/mt ($7/mt) .
5. Electro-galvanized (EG) products:
1) Prices are up by RMB 60/mt ($9/mt).
2) DC04E+Z is up by RMB 40/mt ($6/mt), DC05E+Z, DC06E+Z, DC07E+Z, HC340LAE+Z, and HC260YE+Z are up by RMB 140/mt ($21/mt), HC220YE+Z and HC220BE+Z are up by RMB 240/mt ($37/mt), HC180PE+Z, HC180YE+Z, and HC420LAE+Z are up by BMB 290/mt ($45/mt), HC180BE+Zand HC340/590DPE+Z are up by RMB 390/mt ($61/mt).
6. Galvalume:
1) Main steel base products: the prices of products with wall thickness <1.3 mm are up by RMB 150/mt ($23/mt), and other products (≥1.3mm) are up by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt).
2) Baosteel Group Shanghai Meishan Co.,Ltd products: prices are RMB 50 ($7/mt) lower than the prices of products from Baosteel's main steel production base.
7. Color coated (September-October):the price of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) with ＞0.6 mm wall thickness is up by RMB 150/mt ($23/mt), while prices of all other products are unchanged.
8. Non-grain-oriented (NGO) electrical steel:
1) Prices of high grade steel and B35 series are unchanged.
2) Prices of B50A470 and B50A540 series are down by RMB 200/mt ($31/mt).
3) B50AR, B50AH470 and lower grades have been reduced in price by RMB 200/mt ($31/mt).
4) Prices of low grade steel are up by RMB 130/mt ($20/mt).
9. Grain-oriented electrical steel:
1) Prices of B23 and B27R series are unchanged.
2) B27P, B30P105 and higher grades have been reduced in price by RMB 600/mt ($93/mt).
3) B30P110 and lower grades, B35P series and CGO are down by RMB 1,000/mt ($156/mt).
10. Hot rolled plate (HRP) prices are unchanged.
All the above price changes are effective from August 12, 2011, and exclude 17 percent VAT
