The reference price of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG), for export from Brazil to South American countries is $1,000/mt today, against $1,050/mt four weeks ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In February, Brazil exported 36,900 mt and imported 50,800 mt of HDG, against respectively 7,400 mt and 21,000 mt in January.
The destinations of the exports in February were the US (22,700 mt at $1,005/mt), and South American countries (14,100 mt at $1,496/mt), FOB conditions, while small volumes were shipped to Portugal and Asia.
The exporters were Usiminas (17,300 mt at $1,213/mt), CSN (11,900 mt at $1,041/mt) and ArcelorMittal (7,700 mt at $1,391/mt), FOB conditions.
The imports were from Asia (50,300 mt, of which 43,000 mt at $703/mt from China), and Europe (500 mt at $1,212/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,250/mt ($1,253/mt), against BRL 6,474/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
