On May 13, Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO) issued its steel sales prices for June shipment. The details are as follows (all comparisons being with May prices):
1. Hot rolled (HR)
The prices of all hot rolled products have declined by RMB 180/mt ($29/mt). As a result, the prices of 3.0 mm x 1,250 mm SPHC grade hot rolled coil (HRC), 2.75 mm x 1,250 mm Q235 grade HRC and 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm Q235 grade HRC are respectively standing at RMB 3,790/mt ($611/mt), RMB 3,750/mt ($604/mt) and RMB 3,710/mt ($598/mt).
2. Pickled and oiled
The prices of all pickled and oiled products have declined by RMB 100/mt ($16/mt).
3. Cold rolled (CR)
The prices of deep-drawing high-strength cold rolled steel and low carbon cold rolled steel have decreased by RMB 100/mt ($16/mt), while the prices of other products have decreased by RMB 150/mt ($24/mt). As a result, the price of 1.0 mm Q195 grade cold rolled steel is currently standing at RMB 4,270/mt ($688/mt), while the price of 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x CQ195 grade cold rolled steel is standing at RMB 4,270/mt ($688/mt).
4. Electro-galvanized
The prices of all electro-galvanized products have decreased by RMB 100/mt ($16/mt).
5. Tinplate
The prices of all tinplate products have decreased by RMB 200/mt ($32/mt).
6. Color-coated
The prices of all color coated products have declined by RMB 200/mt ($32/mt).
7. Non-grain-oriented (NGO) silicon steel
Silicon steel division: the prices of low grade NGO silicon steel products have decreased by RMB 150/mt ($24/mt). Accordingly, the price of 0.5 mm 50ww600 NGO silicon steel is at RMB 5,520/mt ($890/mt), while the price of 0.5 mm 50ww800 NGO silicon steel stands at RMB 5,450/mt ($879/mt).
Cold rolled steel mill: NGO silicon steel products are offered at a discount of RMB 200/mt ($32/mt) on the prices of products produced by the silicon steel division.
All the above prices are ex-works, exclude 17 percent VAT, and are effectively immediately.
