On March 12, Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO) issued its steel sales prices for April shipment. The details are as follows (all comparisons being with March prices):
1. Hot rolled coil (HRC)
a) Common carbon, low carbon and low alloy hot rolled products, 900 mm ≤width<1,000 mm, have been increased by RMB 30/mt ($4/mt).
b) The prices of other hot rolled products have remained unchanged.
The prices of 3.0 mm x 1,250 mm SPHC grade HRC, 2.75 mm x 1,250 mm Q235 grade HRC and 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm Q235 grade HRC are respectively standing at RMB 3,390/mt ($555/mt), RMB 3,410/mt ($559/mt) and RMB 3,370/mt ($552/mt).
2. Cold rolled coil, hot dip galvanized (HDG) and tinplate
For cold rolled, HDG and tinplate, order volumes smaller than 25 mt will cost RMB 150/mt ($24/mt) more than order volumes greater than or equal to 25 mt.
3. Prices of wire rod, section steel, rolled plate, pickled, electro-galvanized, non-grain-oriented (NGO) silicon steel and grain-oriented (GO) silicon steel have remained unchanged.
Currently, 14-40 mm Q235 medium plate is priced at RMB 3,650/mt ($598/mt), while the price of 14-40 mm Q345 medium plate stands at RMB 3,760/mt ($616/mt).
All prices are ex-works, excluding 17 percent VAT, and are effectively immediately.
