Over the past week, most Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have kept their official export prices at $630-640/mt FOB against the backdrop of sluggish international demand. Currently, official ex-Turkey equal angle offers are standing at $630-640/mt FOB, for April-early May shipment. A few merchant bar re-rollers are attempting to test $650/mt FOB following the recent upward trend in the import scrap segment, while the new EU quota period will begin on Monday, April 1.
The SteelOrbis daily Turkish billet import reference price stands at $525-540/mt CFR, versus $530-540/mt CFR a week ago.
After the upcoming end-of-Ramadan holiday, demand in the MENA region is expected to gain clarity in the second half of April.
