The downtrend in import rebar interest is evident in steel import data, which show just over 40,000 mt of rebar arriving in the US in January following closer to 70,000 mt in December. However, February numbers could be higher with the re-entry of Algerian offers into the market.
US import rebar offers from Algeria are still around $39.00-$40.00 cwt.
