Interest in US import rebar is still low, as the margin between imports and domestics is still historically narrow. Additionally, sources tell SteelOrbis there is plenty of already-arrived import rebar at Gulf-area ports, giving buyers even less incentive to book large orders for future arrival.

As such, offer prices for US import rebar are unchanged week-on-week, with offers from Egypt and Algeria still around $38.50-$39.50 cwt. ($849-$871/mt or $770-$790/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports, while offers from Mexico are still at $39.00-$40.00 cwt. ($860-$882/mt or $780-$800/nt) DDP Houston.
