Turkey’s ship scrap market increases on the upper end

One Izmir-based Turkish mill has increased its ship scrap procurement price by $2/mt week on week. The general price range is now at $435-454/mt for delivery to mill by truck, with only the upper end indicating a $2/mt rise on the upper end. While the total increase made by three Izmir-based mills has reached $2-27/mt since the beginning of March, a $20/mt reduction has been observed in İDÇ’s ship scrap procurement prices in this period. İDÇ still represents the lower end of prices.

In Turkey's Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Price ($/mt)

Özkan Demir Çelik

Habaş

452

Ege Çelik

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
