Local Turkish hollow section prices stable amid support from HRC market

Considering the support from the rising trend in the hot rolled coil (HRC) market, pipe manufacturers in Turkey have chosen to keep their offer prices stable. Market players, however, claim that, even given the current stability, the fluctuations of the scrap market combined with the slowdown in trade in both the local and export segments have made them pessimistic and reluctant to raise offers.

Consequently, most pipe producers have quoted stable domestic hollow section prices at around $790-830/mt ex-works over the past week. Still, some pipe producers are reported to be offering prices at about $850/mt ex-works, higher than feasible levels.

Since the situation has not altered in the export market, pipe makers kept their prices stable week on week. Accordingly, most export offers for hollow sections have been reported at around $800-850/mt FOB.
