ArcelorMittal Poland restarts BF No. 2 at Dąbrowa Górnicza after modernization

ArcelorMittal Poland, a subsidiary of Luxembourg-based global steel producer ArcelorMittal, has announced that it has commissioned its blast furnace No. 2 at its Dąbrowa Górnicza plant, following the modernization works which started at the end of March this year.

With the investment worth over PLN 720 million ($177.82 million), a new cooling system and a modern blast furnace gas treatment plant have been constructed.

As a result of the modernization works, the company will be able to reduce annual electricity consumption by nearly 400 MWh and annual carbon emissions by 45,000 mt.
