Employment in Turkish construction sector down 6.3% in Q1

According to data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first quarter of this year the season and calendar adjusted index of the number of hours worked in construction in Turkey decreased by 2.3 percent compared to the last quarter of 2013, while the calendar adjusted index of the number of hours worked fell by seven percent compared to the same quarter of 2013.


On the other hand, in the first quarter of the current year, the season and calendar adjusted employment index of the domestic construction industry decreased by 2.3 percent from the previous quarter and the calendar adjusted employment index fell 6.3 percent year on year.
