In August this year, the seasonally and working-day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing industry decreased by 2.6 percent compared to July, according to the preliminary data reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). The working day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing sector in August this year decreased by 0.3 percent compared to August 2013.
Meanwhile, in the first eight months of this year, the turnover in the German manufacturing industry increased by 2.9 percent on year-on-year basis.
In August of the current year, the turnover of German metal and metal product manufacturing increased by 2.6 percent compared to July, with domestic sales increasing by 1.4 percent and foreign sales up by 4.3 percent, month on month. In August, a decrease of 0.9 percent was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products in Germany, with domestic sales decreasing by 1.8 percent and foreign sales up by 0.9 percent, both compared to the previous month.
