In November this year, Mexico's car and light commercial vehicle production volume decreased by 13.7 percent compared to October and rose by 11.4 percent year on year to 284,816 units, according to the release from the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA). In the given month, the country's car and light vehicle exports increased by 5.8 percent year on year to 237,923 units.
Meanwhile, in the first 11 months of the current year, Mexico's car and light commercial vehicle production increased by 8.7 percent year on year to 3,011,288 units. In the given period, the country's car and light commercial vehicle exports indicated a rise of 8.2 percent year on year to 2,447,796 units.
In the January-November period this year, Mexico's exports of cars and light commercial vehicles to Canada, Asia and the US increased by 40.9 percent, 41.7 percent and 13.3 percent respectively, year on year. Meanwhile, in the same period, year-on-year decreases were observed in exports to destinations such as Africa, Europe and Latin America, down 77.2 percent, 32.3 percent and 20.9 percent respectively.
As for domestic sales, in November this year, Mexico's cars and light commercial vehicle sales increased by 14.3 percent year on year to 111,645 units. In the first 11 months of this year, 1,002,136 cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in the domestic market, up 6.2 percent year on year.
