Steel output and sales in Vietnam rise in Jan-Nov

According to the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA), in November this year finished steel production in Vietnam totaled 1.87 million mt, increasing by 1.8 percent month on month and up by 13.0 percent year on year, while the country’s steel product sales in the same month decreased by 5.2 percent compared to October and rose by 0.8 percent year on year to 2.47 million mt.

In the January-November period, steel production in Vietnam increased by 16.0 percent year on year to 20.06 million mt, while the country’s steel sales rose by 13.0 percent year on year to 26.77 million mt.

Meanwhile, in October this year, Vietnam’s imports of finished steel increased by 55.92 percent compared to the previous month and were up by 85.1 percent year on year to 2.41 million mt, while the country’s exports of finished steel totaled 1.08 million mt, remaining same month on month and up by 20.09 percent year on year.
