As a result of the considerable increase in export quantities of steel bar and hot rolled coil, China's finished steel export volume for May climbed up by 780,000 mt compared with the previous month. In May, China's bar exports totaled 673,000 mt, while exports in April had merely reached 545,000 mt. The direct reason for the sharp rise in bar exports is that boron-added rebar is classified in the category of "alloyed steel bar". It should also be pointed that the brisk overseas demand is a root reason for the rise. Meanwhile, the country's HRC exports amounted to 1.028 million mt, up 220,000 mt month on month - another main contributing factor to the month-on-month growth of finished steel exports.
