In November, rebar exports accounted for 47.4 percent of Turkey's total steel product exports, while billet exports constituted 12 percent, exports of steel pipes and fitting parts made up 9.7 percent, exports of steel section constituted 9.2 percent, wire rod exports accounted for 5.3 percent and flat steel exports accounted for 4.5 percent.
On the other hand, in the first 11 months of the year, the country's total steel product exports reached 16.38 million metric tons, while the revenue generated by these exports amounted to $13.95 billion, increasing by 4.8 percent and 26.5 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of 2010.
In the January-November period, Turkey's steel product exports to the UAE, its largest market for steel exports, amounted to 1.4 million metric tons, down 32.4 percent year on year, with a value of $943 million, 18.67 percent lower than in January-November 2010. Turkey's steel product exports to Iraq during the period came to 1.35 million metric tons, up 29.9 percent year on year, with a value of $1.18 billion, up 49.8 percent year on year. Exports to Italy in the given period amounted to 1.14 million metric tons, increasing by 173.68 percent year on year, totaling a value of $873.7 million, up 199.1 percent year on year.
