UK basic metal output index down 5.6 percent in June from May

According to a report released by the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS), in June this year the UK's seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing fell by 4.3 percent compared with June 2011 and was down 2.9 percent compared to the previous month. Manufacturing output fell by 0.9 percent between the first quarter of 2012 and the second quarter of 2012, recording the fourth consecutive quarter-on-quarter decrease.
 
Meanwhile, in the UK the seasonally adjusted production index of basic metal and metal products fell by 6.7 percent in June this year compared with June 2011 and was down 5.6 percent compared to the previous month. In the second quarter of this year, the seasonally adjusted production index of basic metal and metal products fell by 1.7 percent compared to the second quarter of 2011.
