US and Canadian rig counts rise again

Baker Hughes reported Friday that for the week ending July 19, the US rig count increased by 11 to 1,770, following a two-rig increase a week ago. The rig count was down 165 from 1,935 rigs during the same week a year ago. The oil rig count increased by four to 1,395 while the gas rig count rose by seven to 369.

Meanwhile, the rig count in Canada was up another 30 to 324 for the week ending July 19. Canada's rig count was down by four from328 during the same week a year ago.
