On August 18, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced in the Federal Register a correction to the preliminary affirmative results in the antidumping (AD) duty investigation of imports of drill pipe from China.
As the DOC used Baoshan's rate to calculate the separate rate margin, the average dumping margin for the separate rate respondents was corrected from 106.82 to 104.33 percent.
The DOC stated that the weighted-average dumping margin of 7.64 percent announced for Baoshan Iron & Steel Co. (Baoshan) should have been 2.66 percent.
As SteelOrbis previously reported, the DOC preliminarily determined on August 6 that Chinese producers/exporters of drill pipe have sold drill pipe in the United States at AD margins ranging between 0.00 (de minimis) and 429.29 percent.
