US rig count rises while Canadian count declines again week-on-week

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending March 25, the US rotary rig count increased by seven to 670 rigs. The number of rigs drilling for gas remained level at 137, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by seven to 531. The overall rig count is now up by 253 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 36 to 140 rigs in the week ending March 25. The Canadian rig count is now up by 59 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
