Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 30.3 million mt in March of the current year, rising by 1.2 percent compared to February and down by 1.5 percent compared to the same month of 2015, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in March totaled $776.3 million, increasing by 13.2 percent compared to the previous month and down 44 percent year on year.
In March, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 707,094 mt, rising 9.1 percent compared to the previous month and up by 22.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $184 million, increasing by 8.5 percent compared to February and down 25 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in March Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 348,721 metric tons, rising by 8.6 percent from February and up by 11.6 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $143.1 million, rising by 6.2 percent month on month and down 27.5 percent from the March 2015 level.
