Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 35.3 million mt in September of the current year, rising by 2.4 percent compared to August and down by 0.8 percent compared to the same month of 2015, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in September totaled $1.42 billion, increasing by 13.1 percent compared to the previous month and up 12.2 percent year on year.
In September, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 820,400 mt, rising by 10.1 percent compared to the previous month and down by 17.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $297.1 million, decreasing by 0.6 percent compared to August and down by two percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in September Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 380,100 metric tons, rising by 72.1 percent from August and down by 8.7 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $211.1 million, rising by 51.6 percent month on month and up 3.9 percent from the September 2015 level.
